The Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town are renowned for their great diversity of indigenous South African plants. Have a picnic to share in these beautiful gardens and enjoy a lazy stroll through the perfumed plants. These charming gardens also include a variety of different proteas as well as gardens filled with plants that are of medicinal value. Tours are on offer that explore more than just the developed gardens, reaching out into fynbos as well as a captivating forest. The beautiful coastline of the Cape provides wonderful scenic drives. There is a winding road up to Chapman's Peak with magnificent views of the bay and city at your feet. The southernmost point of the African continent is a 40 kilometre casual drive where one can enjoy a meal at the restaurant at Cape Point overlooking the splendour of False Bay below. There is also much to keep the family occupied and entertained. Take a drive across to the gorgeously warm Indian Ocean and the Strand. The promenade running the length of the beachfront hums with the hustle and bustle of traders, curios, eateries and cafés. There's also a supertube, swimming pool and Putt-Putt for those keen to participate in the games! However, if it is action that gets your blood pumping, there is much from which to choose.
